Your AQ

“All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me. You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.” — Walt Disney

“If you’re going through hell, keep going. Kites rise highest against the wind — not with it. A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. We shall draw from the heart of suffering itself the means of inspiration and survival.” — Winston Churchill

Apparently there are various types of intelligence on the planet.

Psychologists refer to these as follows.

Namely, intelligence quotient (IQ), emotional quotient (EQ), social quotient (SQ) and adversity quotient AQ).

Although several sources rate the first three above as being extremely important, the AQ is number one on my list as a mental toughness proponent.

Fine tune and hone your AQ and the rest will take care of themselves. I always say, “Take care of your best and the rest will follow.”

Understand that along your journey, the seven teachings are incredibly critical towards developing your very own personal AQ.

They are:

Many First Nations were absolutely on the right track when these seven teachings were instilled in their communities throughout the globe.

Recently, I was in a school where smudging was a regular, daily practice.

“Smudging is the process of cleansing the soul of negative thoughts of a person or place. This practice is based on traditional beliefs that the smoke produced is a means of purification and to create a positive mindset for those involved in the activities.” - Thompson Rivers University

At the time, I was unaware of this practice and thought that possibly there was smoke emanating from a washroom.

I soon realized that it was smudging and a colleague invited me to participate in the morning ritual with her students.

What an amazing experience as all of the good teachings were incorporated into the morning session.

That experience prompted this short article about AQ.

We all face adversity in our lives from time to time and unfortunately some beautiful people succumb to the dark side of our human personality and basically give up.

People that have nurtured and developed their AQ seem to overcome and win intellectually, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

They absolutely understand that Neuroplasticity creates an AQ that is virtually indestructible.

“Neuroplasticity, also known as neural plasticity, or brain plasticity, is the ability of neural networks in the brain to change through growth and reorganization. It is when the brain is rewired to function in some way that differs from how it previously functioned. These changes range from individual neuron pathways making new connections, to systematic adjustments like cortical remapping.” — Wikipedia

Problems, issues, misfortunes and a sundry of others are no match to an individual’s AQ.

Sounds idealistic?

Not really.

Daily, dogged effort to fine tune and hone your AQ is just simply a daily way of life that leads towards what I call the HSPP factor; happiness, success, prosperity and peace of mind.

It’s yours and it’s virtually free save your time, effort, discipline, focus and awareness.

The Law of Polarity states that everything in the universe has an opposite and is actually equal and opposite.

You get to choose the negative or the positive of any issue or circumstance.

God gave everyone free will so utilize it purposefully in order to attract the HSPP factor of happiness, success, prosperity and peace of mind.

This is incredible power.

Many beautiful people do not avail themselves of this life changing force.

It’s so easy to find the negative in everything.

Find the opposite, as your life will be richly rewarded many times over.

This quote sums it all up.

“You don’t develop courage by being happy in your relationships everyday. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity.” ― Epicurus

What’s the alternative?

All the best.

The best is yet to come for you.

Carpe momentum

Yours in success
