“For the great doesn’t happen through impulse alone, and is a succession of little things that are brought together.” — Vincent Van Gogh

“Never follow anyone else’s path. Unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path. Then by all means follow that path.” — Ellen DeGeneres

“The dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Work is the key to success, and hard work can help you accomplish anything.” — Vince Lombardi

No one person is born fantastic.

This trait is prodded, nurtured and developed until it becomes a seedling capable of sustaining itself.

What does it take to aspire to this level of great achievement in life? It requires an innate ability to be real with as few chameleon acts as possible.

Being real implies ridding oneself of the infamous ego.

It is rare to see this in society today, as the norm is not fantastic but the total opposite, i.e. plain, common, logical, rational, customary, reasonable, credible, unimaginative and so on and so on.

Are you yawning yet?

There are a lot of beautiful people that just love putting in time, watching the clock and thinking of everything else than what they should be focused on.

I recall the following, at a seminar years ago. It goes something like this.

This is their usual daily schedule at 4:30 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m., they begin to wind down the day by cruising the office with high five’s and exchanging comradery .

At 4:40 p.m., they make a dash for the bathroom before they exit for the day.

At 4:50 p.m., they slip on their running shoes and tie up their laces like professional athletes ready to compete in the 100-yard dash.

At 4:59 p.m., they position themselves with legs spread ready to dart out of the building.

At 5:00 p.m., they are already in their vehicle that was parked in reverse, ready to exit without backing into the parking lot.

At 5:05 p.m., the parking lot is empty.

Their work ethic will improve as soon as they rid themselves of the daily schedule at 4:30 p.m.

Got work ethic?

If you’re reading this, you absolutely do!

Carpe Momentum.

Yours in success,

Franco Cianflone
